# One Piece Ending Hidden: Oda Sinks the Secret 651 Meters Deep

The Great Pirate Era has officially begun in the real world. To celebrate a staggering **600 million copies** of *One Piece* in circulation, creator Eiichiro Oda has done the unthinkable: he wrote down the true identity of the “One Piece” and sank it into the ocean.

This isn’t a drill or a fan theory. The actual ending of the series now rests **651 meters** beneath the surface, sealed in a pressure-resistant sphere. Here is everything you need to know about the treasure that has turned the entire world into the Grand Line.

## What is the Eiichiro Oda One Piece Secret Hidden in the Sea?

For over 25 years, fans have asked one question: *What is the One Piece?* In a legendary move, Eiichiro Oda has finally committed the answer to paper. The creator recorded the absolute truth about the treasure and the fate of Monkey D. Luffy on a single sheet.

But there is a twist. Oda tore the paper in half:

- **The Question:** The top half, reading “What is One Piece?”, was published in major Japanese newspapers like *Asahi Shimbun*.
- **The Answer:** The bottom half, containing the actual secret, was locked in a chest and submerged.

This physical existence of the ending proves that the One Piece is a tangible reward, not just “the friends we made along the way.” It is a masterclass in storytelling that blurs the line between manga and reality.

### Where exactly is the One Piece ending hidden?

The treasure chest wasn’t just tossed overboard; it was a scientific operation. Partnering with **JAMSTEC** (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology), Oda’s team sealed the chest inside a high-tech glass sphere designed to withstand immense deep-sea pressure.

Here are the confirmed specs of the drop:

- **Depth:** Exactly 651 meters (approx. 2,135 feet).
- **Vessel:** A specialized research boat transported the sphere to an undisclosed location.
- **Speculation:** Sleuths believe it might be in **Suruga Bay**, known for its depth and proximity to Tokyo.

The video footage released shows the sphere descending into the pitch-black abyss, settling into the sediment where it will remain untouched. It is arguably the most secure spoiler in history.

#### When will the hidden One Piece secret be revealed?

You can put away your scuba gear for now. The chest is scheduled to be retrieved and opened **only when the manga officially concludes**. While Oda has confirmed we are in the [Final Saga](https://allthingsmanga.com/elbaf-war-imu-demon-giants-vs-straw-hats/), he has not set a definitive date for the final chapter.

With the [Elbaf arc](https://allthingsmanga.com/one-piece-chapter-1176-franky-upgrade-sanji/) ramping up and mysteries surrounding [Imu and the D. Clan](https://allthingsmanga.com/d-clan-to-giants-one-piece-chapter-1171/) unfolding, the end is both near and far. That glass sphere will likely sit in the cold darkness for a few more years, guarding the secret that will shake the world. Until then, the mystery of the [One Piece](https://allthingsmanga.com/) is safe from everyone—even the leaks.

Eiichiro Oda has turned his life’s work into a living legend. By physically sinking the ending of *One Piece*, he has proven that the mystery is real, tangible, and waiting for us at the end of the journey. We are witnessing history in the making, a stunt that immortalizes Luffy’s adventure forever. The only question left is: are you ready for the truth when it resurfaces?
