Gear 5 the live-action adaptation of “One Piece” is a show that many of us are eagerly awaiting after the success of its first season. The long journey of the Straw Hat Pirates has only just begun, and while arcs like Dressrosa or Marineford are still far away, events like Luffy’s use of Gear 5 seem almost light-years away. However, Japan has given us an answer to the question of what Luffy’s Gear 5 should look like in the Netflix series.
This live-action Gear 5 looks as good as one could hope
Without further ado, here’s the new promotional video that was released in Japan recently for “One Piece,” which looks absolutely phenomenal:
Now that you’ve had a chance to take a look, here are four things you should know about the video:
- Obviously, what you see in the video is not from the official One Piece live-action series, but rather a promotional video for the presence of Eiichiro Oda’s show at Universal Studios Japan. 😮
Slowly but surely, Luffy’s Gear 5 makes its way to new stages - For those who don’t know Universal Studios Japan, it’s basically a theme park located in Osaka (Japan) that often features collaborations with all kinds of popular anime brands. 🤗
THIS THE END FOR SUKUNA? MEGUMI’S RETURN? YUJI’S NEW TECHNIQUE!
- Essentially, this promotional video serves to announce a new live show for One Piece at Universal Studios Japan, which will run from July 3 to October 7, 2024 and will include the presence of Luffy’s Gear 5 as a big “surprise.” Tickets for the show can already be purchased through the Universal Studios Japan website. 😁
- While there is no specific information about what will be represented in the show, given the presence of Luffy’s Gear 5, it’s possible that the play will adapt how the protagonist awakens this power and, above all, how it differs from the other versions he had shown until now. 🤔
Solo Leveling season 2: The positive evolution of Sung Jinwoo
Honestly, even if Netflix rushes to get the “One Piece” live-action series into production quickly, we’re still several years away from seeing Gear 5 in action. In fact, we haven’t even seen Gear 2 in the series yet, so that alone speaks volumes about how far away we are. However, official videos like this set a precedent for what we should expect in the future, and personally, I wouldn’t mind at all if the USJ version of Gear 5 ends up being the same or very similar in the live-action series.
