Upcoming Second Season

Filming for the live-action adaptation's second season is starting soon, with new cast announcements anticipated.

In the world of anime and manga, few titles have captured the hearts of fans quite like “One Piece.” The epic tale of the Straw Hat Pirates, led by the indomitable Monkey D. Luffy, has been a staple of the medium for over two decades. Now, the story is being brought to life in a highly-anticipated live-action adaptation, and it seems that the cast and crew are just as passionate about the source material as the fans are.

Working on a Project as Ambitious as One Piece

Working on a project as ambitious and exciting as the One Piece live-action adaptation must be an incredible experience. Just like the cast of the Avengers movies, the actors and actresses who portray the members of the Straw Hat Pirates have reportedly formed a strong bond, becoming close friends in the process. The filming of this series must have been nothing short of magical.

The final result was a skeletal figure with a straw hat made up of the different letters that, together, form the words One Piece.

Taz Skylar, the Canary Islands-born actor who plays Sanji in the live-action adaptation, is a prime example of this camaraderie. In addition to forming close relationships with his co-stars Iñaki Godoy (Luffy) and Mackenyu (Zoro), Skylar also shares a unique connection with the creator of One Piece himself, Eiichiro Oda.

Oda Designs a Tattoo for Taz Skylar

During the recent Paris Fan Festival, Taz Skylar revealed in an interview with Seriously (via Anime Hunch) that one of his latest tattoos was designed by none other than the author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda!

Skylar recounted that when he had the pleasure of dining with Oda in Japan, he shared his desire to get a tattoo related to the One Piece universe, but wasn’t quite sure what to get. It was then that Skylar boldly asked the mangaka to design his new tattoo, and to his surprise, Oda agreed to the proposal!

The final result was a skeletal figure with a straw hat made up of the different letters that, together, form the words “One Piece.” Taz Skylar proudly sports this design on his left ankle.

A Strong Bond Between Cast and Creator

It’s truly heartwarming to see the creator of One Piece maintaining such a close relationship with the main members of the live-action adaptation’s cast. The story of Luffy and his crew is centered on the bonds of friendship, and that’s exactly what Oda is conveying by having these special moments with Taz Skylar and the rest of the team.

In addition to the exciting news about the live-action adaptation, it’s worth noting that the filming for the second season of the series is set to begin in just a few weeks. This means that we’ll likely be getting some announcements about new additions to the cast soon. Who will be playing Nico Robin? Only time will tell!

In the meantime, fans of One Piece can rest assured that the live-action adaptation is in good hands. With a talented cast, a visionary creator, and a passion for the source material that shines through in every aspect of the production, this is one series that’s sure to make a splash.
