- Bungou Stray Dogs season 5 officially premieres during July 12, 2023 (via AIR). ?
- As with the rest of the previous seasons, it will once again be BONES the studio in charge of its animation. ?
- The end of season 4 of the Bungou Stray Dogs anime left the TV adaptation VERY close to the current state of the manga. Of the 23 published volumes of Kafka Asagari and Sango Harukawa’s work, the anime has already adapted 18 (up to chapter 77). In other words, it’s quite likely that season 5 will end up laying on top of the original manga altogether. ?
- It should also be noted that Bungou Stray Dogs anime seasons are generally 12 episodes each, so BONES can’t be forced to slow down the pace too much at this point either. ?
To be honest, I find the decision to produce seasons 4 and 5 of the anime “Bungou Stray Dogs” almost consecutively highly questionable, when it’s obvious that this decision will involve a fairly long break. The reason? Well, because, as I said, the anime will be on the same level in terms of plot as the manga. Consequently, until the illustration work has progressed sufficiently, it will be impossible to see any other main “Bungou Stray Dogs” anime announced, and the wait could well last for years.
